Is Texas Preparing To Take Their Safety Into Their Own Hands?
It is looking like this writers home state of Texas has had enough of the games over the border wall. Reports indicate that they may be preparing to take matters into their own hands, and build their own wall to secure their southern border.
With the Democrats playing politics with millions of American lives, including the lives of many Texans, can anyone really blame them?
Two members of the conservative Texas Freedom Caucus, state Representatives Briscoe Cain and Kyle Biedermann are drafting a new proposal to do just that. The proposal is to use the states "Rainy Day Fund" to provide the money needed to secure their border including building their own wall.
Smart move on their part because they may never get one if they wait for the federal government to build it. And in the meantime more and more illegals just keep flooding across the border into their state.
With hundreds of thousands of Central Americans also on their way in several caravans.
Bringing crime, disease, drugs, and sex slaves along with them. Then, thanks to the ridiculous "catch and release" laws from the Obama administration they get released into our communities to immediately begin draining resources meant for American citizens.
Two members of the Texas House of Representatives are preparing a bill that would provide $2.5 billion to fund a border wall. The proposal would take the money from Texas’ “Rainy Day Fund.”
State Representatives Kyle Biedermann (R-Fredricksburg) and Briscoe Cain (R-Deer Park) are working on legislation to take $2.5 billion from the Texas Economic Stabilization Fund, also known as the Rain Day Fund, to provide funding to build a border wall along the Texas border with Mexico. The proposal is still in the drafting phase, sources tell Breitbart News, but a bill could be filed soon.
A source in Rep. Biedermann’s office told Breitbart News on Tuesday that the bill is still in the planning stages but calls for the funds to be allocated to the Office of the Texas Governor, who would oversee the process of allocating funds and getting the wall built.
The funds would be used to design, test, construct, and install physical barriers, roads, and technology along the international land border between Texas and Mexico with a goal of preventing illegal border crossings in those areas, Biedermann told Breitbart News on Sunday.
Breitbart News reached out to the offices of Governor Greg Abbott, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, House Speaker Dennis Bonnen and the Department of Homeland Security for a reaction to the proposal. More
Now being a transplanted Texan myself this does not in any way surprise me and also as a Texas boy, I know that only Texas can build a wall that is going to be acceptable by Texans.
I mean come on, its Texas man! Only Texans can decide what is best for Texas because we do everything bigger, better and stronger.
The fact that there will be challenges by the left who want our borders open and care nothing for American lives are really of little concern here.
Any challenges would be dealt with in the 5th circuit court of Texas and there is little doubt that they will be shown the door forthwith.
We Texans are not an easy crowd to push around or bully into submission. Mexico found that out on April 21, 1836 when Texan soldiers defeated Mexican forces along the banks of the San Jacinto River.
We ain't giving it back either!
